On behalf of my entire crew, I would like to welcome you aboard the Prowler. The Prowler has earned a prime spot in the rich history of San Diego sportfishing. Built in 1964 - 1965 by Ditmar Donaldson in Newport Beach, the Prowler was a revolutionary design - low to the water and super wide. To this day, the Prowler is still one of the widest 65' sportfishers on the west coast. Previous ownership of the Prowler included sportfishing legends Bill Poole, Chuck Gilliam and Mike Groesbeck. Past and present, the boat has always been considered one of the finest sportfishing boats in Southern California. The boat fishes extremely well, with Tuna and other species eager to come to the "corner". Hopefully, you've had the good fortune to experience first-hand the great fishing we've enjoyed over the years.
Over the years, many modifications have been made to the boat. With the recent addition of new CAT engines, bigger bait tanks, increased fuel and water capacity and the necessity of a Chilled-Seawater fish hold, the Prowler is truly a state-of-the-art fishing platform. Complimenting the hull is a vast array of electronics: from radars to GPS navigation to side-scanning sonar, we have the ability to get to the hot fishing areas quickly, quietly and with pinpoint accuracy.
Our business has always been customer-centric. With ever-increasing competition in the southland fleet, we've always known that our ability to show all passengers a great fishing experience is what differentiates us from our competition. We're proud to set a higher standard and grateful to see our lead followed.
We want all passengers to have a safe and fun trip and we look forward to seeing you on the Prowler this season. Don't forget to check out the web site daily for updated trip reports, fish counts and lot's of great photos and video.
Tight lines - Buzz Brizendine
